So Glen Hansard will have his day to bask in the spotlight that is the Oscars after all! There was some speculation whether or not the song “Falling Slowly” was actually penned for the film ‘Once’ or later associated with the film. He’s been now given the thumbs up which is good news for gingers everywhere Irish Music Industry!
I was a huge fan of The Frames about 10 years ago, I remember seeing them in Whelans countless times and one of my first ‘dates’ was at a Frames concert, but I have to say those were their better years, when Whelans was a decent gig to them. I think Hansard has well an truely grown into some sort of monster that just needs to be fed praise and sunlight. He has a hint of the Christy Moore’s about him now (‘nobody is to speak when i am speaking’) and well they just haven’t released any decent music in a fair while now!
