Here she sits my new pride and joy! Actually I say she but I’m not sure how you can tell . . anyway! Gateway M-Series notebook, all singing / dancing / gleaming! It’s a great machine and unlike my old laptop it runs effortlessly and without question! Well it is running Microsoft Vista so it does ask you questions like a curious 8 year old :

“Did you really want to run that program? Windows wasn’t sure if you sneezed and clicked by accident? Oh you did sneeze? Do you still want to run it? Maybe you should decide later if you want to run this program because you’re not in full health? Oh it’s only hayfever? Have you medicated? Well go on then, let’s run this program together just the once, you are my friend right? YES / NO / CANCEL”

Unlike my old HP Pavillion Series Laptop you don’t have to bring it out for dinner and drinks to convince it that it wants to use the internet. The start up for my old laptop involved the following sequence:

    Power On
    Make Tea (5 mins)
    Double click Firefox
    Let it Hang (7 mins)
Decide you want more sugar in tea (8.5 mins)
    Press Ctrl-Alt-Del
See whats on telly (12.5 mins)
Once task manager loads up run Firefox again
    Let it Hang (15 mins)
Firefox Loads but with no connection
Repeatadly clicking F5 and waiting for the wireless to kick in
Will I have more tea? Why not! (18 mins)
God I didn’t think Fair City was still on telly, that’s gas
    Mozilla Start Page Loads(22 mins)
    Try load twitter
    Something technically wrong? (27.3 mins)
Hard time finding the F5 button as its worn down
What did I need to do online again? Ah sod it there’s a film starting
