Laugh, and then some. . .
One of the most important questions asked while organising or booking a holiday in any part of the world these days is
“Will i get Aids in this country?”
And a close second to that would be, ‘How much is it going to cost me to get completely trollied off my face’? Well someone on the wide expansys of the interweb has heard your calling and has put together a site that collects the prices of your average pint in various countries around the world.
Pint Price is a database of World Beer Prices. Use this site to find the best watering nation. Pint Price has also been described as an important economic iindicator… Help us complete the beer price database!
Good in theory you might say but what it actually is is a walter mitty’s guide to acting like shane mcgowan in a meth clinic, bottom line , a fucking disgrace!
The price of a pint in Ireland varies drastically from 1.85 euros to over a tenner. . horse flaps and toffee tosh is what i say to that! A nice idea, a nice site, just abused.

Mucho congrats to Darragh Doyle who won May’s Blog Post of the Month for his excellent post about commenting! A well written post and with screen shots for how to comment on different blogs he’s put it together flawlessly. Having only known of Darragh’s existence since Elly’s Tweet Up I have to say his blog is an exciting read, be it chasing down comedian’s for an off the cuff interview or up and coming actresses to see what metal she’s made of!
To any blogger comments are important, it’s like feedback that really justify’s and makes posting all that more worthwhile and it is an essential part of the blogosphere and Darragh captured that beautifully with his post!
Also on an aside note, it is a tribute to Darragh who is running a Blogger blog (as I did!) to have so many comments on his posts. Blogger is notoriously linked with the hassle that is involved in leaving comments and in my opinion stands in the shadow of WordPress’s commenting system. All you have to do is take a look at the volume of comments that people leave on his blog and it’s a testimant to the quality of his writing!
Visit his site today, visit it again tomorrow! Add it to your reader and add to your blogroll immediately if not sooner!
Here she sits my new pride and joy! Actually I say she but I’m not sure how you can tell . . anyway! Gateway M-Series notebook, all singing / dancing / gleaming! It’s a great machine and unlike my old laptop it runs effortlessly and without question! Well it is running Microsoft Vista so it does ask you questions like a curious 8 year old :
“Did you really want to run that program? Windows wasn’t sure if you sneezed and clicked by accident? Oh you did sneeze? Do you still want to run it? Maybe you should decide later if you want to run this program because you’re not in full health? Oh it’s only hayfever? Have you medicated? Well go on then, let’s run this program together just the once, you are my friend right? YES / NO / CANCEL”
Unlike my old HP Pavillion Series Laptop you don’t have to bring it out for dinner and drinks to convince it that it wants to use the internet. The start up for my old laptop involved the following sequence:
For anyone that’s interested here’s what was thrown in!
What I <3 about it the most is, the oodles of hard drive space, the fact the egg timer is a thing of the past and that I no longer have to use a PCMIA card to use wireless!
Proudly brought to you by the downturn in the American economy, the fantastic exchage rate and Delta airlines! I salute you!
Firefox 3 should be up for release in late June and the people at Mozilla have very cleverly set up a unique buzz around the final release. They intend creating a world record for the most software downloads in 24 hours. You visit the site and ‘pledge’ that you will download FF3 on the release date and they will send you a reminder about your download date.
According to the map there are nearly 600,000 pledges to download FF3 and a healthy 1,769 from Ireland alone! I’ve been using Firefox 3 Release Candidate now for the past couple of weeks and have to say I am well impressed. With the use of plugins and add-ons i can’t see why anyone should use Internet Explorer anymore.
The week away just seems to have just flown in. It only seems like yesterday that i was delayed in Dublin Airport and then again in JFK Airport for countless hours and missed flights and dumb people at check in desks etc. The theme parks have been explored, experienced and mostly definitely enjoyed!
Instead of just blurbing on in one long post about the whole experience what i intend to do is disect it into smaller parts and work my way through what I thought of it all! I’m more and more determined to get back on the blogging wagon that i’ve almost certainly fallen off. Alas with some helping hands and supportive words and lots of life experience to blurb on about I should be back right on track!
